IF YOU ARE GOING TO EAT SOMETHING sweet and indulgent–and we know you are–look no further than Tony’s Market in Oak Bluffs.  A favorite stop for oversized and overstuffed breakfast sandwiches, house-made salads, wraps, and much more, Tony’s continues to expand its pastry, cake, and pie offerings.  Pie and cake slice selections change daily and individual slices are available. Still, without question, take home a whole one. It will not be wasted.  Pies are made daily with the freshest and finest ingredients from the island’s Pie Chicks Bakery. Favorites include Key Lime Pie that is citrusy, sweet/tart, and creamy with the perfect sweet to pucker ratio. The crust, meanwhile, is light and bright.  Another winner is a local favorite. Boston Cream Pie, which is actually a cake, is as light and fluffy as a sponge. The cake includes two layers filled with a smooth and creamy vanilla-flavored custard and is topped with rich chocolate icing.  Melt in your mouth best describe Tony’s carrot cake option. A taste test reveals carrots, dates, walnuts, and a sweet cream cheese frosting. A to-die-for decadent triple chocolate cake is another crowd-pleaser.  Also available are a selection of stuffed loaves of fresh bread, flakey croissants, and pastries good any time of day from Pain d’Avignon in Hyannis.  New and gaining in popularity are vegan squares.  Come in often and you may find options like lemon bars, peanut butter blondies, 7-layer bars, and blackberry coconut bars.
