Nancy’s Restaurant in Oak Bluffs is an island eatery that isn’t to be missed. With its expansive menu full of plenty of seafood options and stunning view of the harbor, the restaurant is one of a kind. One of the people that make this place so special is Head Chef, Andrew Robinson. Working nonstop to make sure that all of the food is the best it could be and constantly trying to rework classic s such as Mac and Cheese, Robinson’s dedication to his craft has undoubtedly made Nancy’s not only known for its view, but incredible food.
TW: How did you get into cooking?
AR: I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up in the kitchen.
TW: What brought you to the vineyard and how long have you been here for?
AR: I came here with friends initially for a summer, but ended up never leaving. This is my 7th summer here and 3rd working at Nancy’s.
TW: What’s your favorite meal to make?
AR: I love to cook anything with fish or steak.
TW: If you had to work with only one ingredient for the rest of your life, what would it be?
AR: garlic
TW: What’s your favorite part about living on the Vineyard?
AR: I love the community here, and this place is an entire different world after the summer rush is over, that makes things interesting.
TW: What’s your favorite thing on Nancy’s menu?
AR: The Lobster Mac and Cheese, no doubt.
