MV Oceansports Rents out Vessels to Enjoy the Sea

On a fine day, when the weather is clear, the water unrolls itself in a lovely navy carpet, away from the shores of Martha’s Vineyard until flirting with the horizon that lies just out of eye’s reach. All that is needed on days like these is a way to traverse the shining seas. From an unassuming shack on the Oak Bluffs marina, the people of MV Oceansports provide this much needed service, renting a wide variety of boats and other small vessels.
A blistering day on the island can quickly turn into a cooled retreat at sea with Oceansports’ Whaler class boats. The small boats are best used as a private way to peacefully travel the Vineyard coast, or enjoy a nice afternoon of fishing. The boats are also used as a base for eager island visitors to explore the pristine bays and harbors. The vessels seat six, and are ideal for those who want to get away from land and simply relax. The boats don’t come with a captain, so they are perfect for those pleasure-cruisers seeking privacy and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the cities.
Calmness is not for everyone. To some visitors, the exhilaration of flying though the water with the wind whipping through their hair 
makes for a more full-bodied afternoon. Oceansports’ Ski Boats, rented by the hour, half, or full day, can provide these thrills, and more. These boats are much faster than the Whalers, and need a captain to direct them. A diverse range of watersports are available from the Ski Boats, such as wakeboards and water skis. The different sports cater to different types, but all promise a thrilling day on the water.
The last, and arguably the most exciting option, is the ever-iconic Jet-Ski. This speedy option for traveling the high seas is the most popular alternative of them all. The Jet-Skis are the item of choice among walkup renters, mostly because of their flashy appearance; the sleek fleet of vessels bobs silently off of the marina, almost as if asking for the eager renter to jump on and cut through the ocean surf. Also, the Jet-Skis are available for a “Morning Tour” package, which allows the renter to see all of the island’s popular attractions between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown by sea. The tour lasts from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning.
