It’s not typical of a pizza shop to sell anything but pizza, but at Edgartown Pizza, its best-kept secret (no longer a secret after everyone reads this) is their Teriyaki Steak Tips. Served with probably the fluffiest, most delicious steamed rice and salad (or fries), at $11.95 it might just be the best deal in town as well. A very generous plate of steak tips is served up – the steak tips are marinated in teriyaki sauce, a flavorful sweet-savory sauce. Traditionally, “teriyaki” itself is a cooking technique used in Japanese cuisine in which foods are broiled or grilled with a glaze of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar – you get all those flavors in this dish.
This dish grew in popularity thanks to the large Brazilian population – South and Latin American countries tend to count on rice as part of their lunch meals more than North Americans do, so it’s nice to see this dish served up to delight everyone on island. So next time you’re craving a more than pizza but your partner is adamant about getting a slice – you can both be satisfied at Edgartown Pizza. But we’re sure they’ll want some of those steak tips – remember sharing is caring!
