The main attraction for honest food

“I believe in flavor, and taste of the food”

Steak! Listen, we all know that it’s easily the most aristocratic meal one can have. Right off the grill, or slathered in A-1 sauce, it’s a stick to your ribs meal that will leave you in a well-deserved food coma (Unless you’re a vegetarian of course). Now imagine that steak, a half pound to be exact, covered in fried crisp Vidalia onions, paired with warm scalloped potatoes and perfectly seasoned mixed vegetables. You hungry yet?

If so, take a trip over to The Grill on Main in Edgartown. Located two minutes from downtown, it’s the perfect restaurant to bring the family or that barista you’ve had your eye on all summer.

Whether it’s a family outing or date, Chef and Owner Tony Saccoccia welcomes you into his world of culinary expertise, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a wonderful night out.

For the past 12 years, The Grill on Main has been serving up casual American cuisine with strong Italian and French influences through it’s small, but deliciously sized menu. Keeping the classics and offering only different menu options through the nightly specials, Chef Tony believes in honest and classic food preparation.

“I’m old school. I believe in flavor and the taste of the food which should surpass everything” says Saccoccia.

With only nine appetizers and eleven entrees to pick from on the regular menu, Chef Tony offers 2-for- 1 specials every night, and a Prix Fixe menu with a choice of an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, for $47.95. By doing so, Chef can concentrate on the smaller selection of dishes to produce a better quality product. Sounds like a delicious date night on a small budget.

Known for his classic preparation of one of the more notably popular appetizers, the lobster turnover is a must try. The lobster filled filo dough pocket, floats in a wonderfully velvety shrimp and lemon cream sauce. Once cut into, the lobster concoction flows into the sauce, creating a combination taking you straight to France. Garnished with a bundle of fresh parsley, and baby tomatoes, this luscious appetizer will leave you happily full until the entrée comes around.

And by entrees, we mean large portions of a wholesome and filling meal that will you transport back to your grandmother’s kitchen, where leaving the table hungry was against the rules.

With generous options to pick from like the chicken parmigiana, or grilled swordfish with a citrus and fine herb butter, guests can witness dishes being created as they first step foot in the dining room. The quaint, but powerful kitchen lets restaurant goers witness the magic behind the line that guests are ever so curious about.

With an open seating area, guests can dine inside under the comfort of cool blues and tans, admiring the elegant artwork hanging from every wall. With the kitchen located directly in the dining area, Chef Tony can be seen working wonders, and cooking away on the grill seven nights a week.

Inside not for you? Saccoccia recently opened an outdoor patio in front of the restaurant for the younger crowd of diners. Complete with classic music, and an energetic atmosphere, stop on by to The Grill on Main for a 2-for-1 satisfying meal, or a set dinner from the Prix Fixe menu. Regardless of which you pick, your stomach will thank you.
