Located right on the Oak Bluffs Harbor, Sand Bar & Grille is the ultimate destination if you really want to feel like you’re on vacation. Grab a table and dig your toes into the sand as you order a cold drink and delicious food. Sand Bar & Grille, a seasonal eatery on Martha’s Vineyard, is one of the top destinations to dine – whether you’re a tourist visiting the island and actually on vacation or a local that’s working crazy summer hours and just need to get away from real life for a minute, an hour or longer! Start with one of their signature summer cocktails or choose from a large selection of cold beer, and your halfway to level of relaxation you came here seeking. Come hungry because there are so many menu items you will want to try and everything at the Sand Bar just hits the spot. Start your meal with their lobster guacamole, freshly made with avocados and packed to the brim with fresh lobster meat. The guacamole is bright, full of flavor and paired with salted chips. It’s just the appetizer you need on the harbor and goes great with the above-mentioned cocktails and cold beer!
For the meat eaters, check out their flame-grilled burgers. A popular choice is The Dude Burger, a half pound, 100% fresh premium, lean Angus beef, is cooked to order with their signature seasoning on a fresh toasted brioche bun. This burger is served with a Carolina-style BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, thick cut bacon, and fried onion rings to top it off. The blend of the sweet, slightly spicy barbecue sauce, paired with melted cheese, salty bacon, and crispy onion rings is just what the burger doctor ordered. It’s a tall burger and when served with fries, it’s a meal to share – but you won’t want to! For the seafood lovers, the Famous Baja Fish Tacos are muy tasty! Mahi Mahi is cooked to your liking (fried, grilled, or blackened) and served with cabbage, pico de gallo, and an avocado cilantro sauce on soft tortillas. The sauce itself is one of the best parts of the taco, an herbaceous and creamy sauce that you’ll want to ask for an extra side of it, it’s that good. Other tacos that are just as delicious include the Ahi Tuna Tacos, the Pulled Pork Tacos, and the Steak Tacos. If tacos aren’t your thing, the lobster rolls are some of the tastiest on the harbor. They offer both traditional (Maine lobster mixed with a touch of mayonnaise and served chilled) or hot buttered (Maine lobster poached in hot butter) – you can’t go wrong either way. If you somehow made it through all of the delicious menu items and still have room, the desserts are a choice between a Bananas Foster Pudding or a Key Lime Pie – yum! See you on the Harbor!
