By now, everyone knows and has probably been to, the Martha’s Vineyard Comedy Fest. But did you know that there are still tickets available to see the main acts perform up close and in person at the Edgartown Diner tonight! And there is a dinner before it too, for just $60 per person you get a 3-course dinner and a front seat to the best comedy in the country.
The laughter and hilarity that overtakes Oak Bluffs every August with the Martha’s Vineyard Comedy Fest spreads to Edgartown this year thanks to some special dinner events at the Edgartown Diner.
In an effort to offer the fun and side-splitting chuckles to even more people and in a more intimate setting, the Edgartown Diner on Lower Main Street this year will host several Comedy Night Dinners.
“Now in its eighth year, the MV Comedy Fest is one of the island’s premier events during the month of August,” said Steve Capers, Managing Partner of Knock-Knock Productions, which produces and manages The Fest. “Tickets sell out quickly and there is always demand for additional shows. So we are expanding and extending The Fest this year with a couple of shorter and smaller shows in a friendly venue at the Edgartown Diner. Expect some surprises.”
Edgartown Diner owners Ralston and Mavis Francis are thrilled to host some of the hottest comedians on today’s stand-up circuit. The pair is also enthusiastic to showcase their culinary talents during what are sure to be the most coveted events offered on the island this August.
“We are extremely proud and excited to be involved this year in the Martha’s Vineyard Comedy Fest. We love the idea of putting food, laughter, and a good time in one complete package at the Edgartown Diner,” the duo said.
The Diner will be open as usual, with a special seating and menu for the comedy show dinners. Seating and dinner start at 7:30 p.m. Showtime is 8:30 p.m. sharp, and will run until 9: 30 p.m.
The $60 per person menu includes a choice of New England Clam Chowder or a Mixed Greens with Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad to start. Entrée offerings are Jerk Chicken, Blackened Salmon, Meat Loaf, or Veggie Pasta with squash, peppers, onions, asparagus, zucchini, and farfalle pasta.
A choice of two sides is available to accompany each entrée choice: seasoned jasmine rice, creamy mashed potatoes, expertly prepared chef veggies, and golden fries. A special dessert of Strawberry Vanilla Frosted Cake a la mode (vanilla ice cream) will cap off the meal.
